Saltation
A concept for a kinetic installation that features the drift of sand particles over time.
Saltation is the concept for a kinetic installation that features the drift of sand particles over time. While usually sand particles start to drift over desert surfaces moving and skipping along the ground like a bouncing ball through wind, the installation proposes to simulate the movement through rotation.
The prototyping was done by the NTSI Lab's Student Research Assistants Nishant Aswani and Barkin Simsek.
