Discussion
- The Da Vinci notebooks with its densely covered drawings and notes, calculations and diagrams, are a treasure house of curiosity and creative energy that have inspired readers for centuries. His background in painting, sculpting, set design, costume making, engineering, mathematics, philosophy, anatomy and nature (botanics, zoology, physics, geography) made him one of the great – if not the greatest – inventors of his time. What do you think is needed today to step into his foot steps? Is it possible at all? What do you need to invent a flying machine today?
- It is said that Da Vinci was of a peaceful sensibility. What do you think drove him to despite his hand into designing the machinery of war?
